Dr. Chelliah Venkatraman
Dr. Chelliah Venkatraman, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Parasu Group, is a pioneer in the field of dental care in Chennai for decades. An orthodontics specialist, he started practicing in 1974 and created a brand called Parasu which is now a reputed multispecialty dental hospital in Chennai.
Parasu was a seminal initiative because Parasu Dental Hospital provided all dental services under one roof. This was the first of its kind in Chennai.
Teaching has always been a passion for Dr. Venkatraman. He taught in various institutes of repute in and around Chennai. He was the founding dean of the School of Dental Sciences, Sathyabama Insitute of Science and Technology, and also played a key role in setting up and starting the Orthodontics Department. He was the HOD of the Orthodontics Department at Sri. Ramachandra Dental College in Chennai and also served as the principal at Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in Pondicherry.
Another feather in his cap of his was being a part of a deputation to M.O.H in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in the 1980s as a Consultant Orthodontist.
Dr. Venkatraman holds community service very close to his heart and does his bit to give back to the community by organizing free dental camps and providing free treatment in villages in Tamil Nadu.
